Movie Night
Another film and discussion night coming up at the Leavitt home! Bring a friend and a favorite movie snack to share as we take in the Critics Choice award-nominated film from 2023, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret together. It’s an adaptation of the beloved Judy Blume novel on a young girl coming of age and all of the joys and pitfalls of that journey. It’ll make you laugh, it’ll make you cry, it’ll make you think - about life, work, faith, and so much more. Don’t miss it!
Spiritual Conversations
For many of us, cultivating spiritual conversations with our friends and neighbors remains one of the most challenging tasks to undertake in our spiritual journeys. It can feel awkward because we don’t know what to say; it can make us feel “less than” because we’re not experts on everything; sometimes it can even make us wonder whether Jesus really has made much of a difference in our lives. However, study after study show our world is full of folks who are longing for spiritual conversations with trusted people in their lives, and that the vast majority of healthy interactions (i.e. not soapboxes on street corners) lead to positive developments in people’s spiritual lives. So how can we become people prepared and equipped, not to awkwardly preach at people, but to be receptive to their spiritual journeys and to winsomely and helpfully communicate what Jesus has done in our own? Join Daniel Barth–who has spent years navigating spiritual conversations for a living through Athletes in Action–for a three week course where we explore what it looks like to cultivate spiritual conversations in every part of our lives! Bring your own lunch - we’ll eat and learn and chat together!
Water Play Day
We’re calling all Midtowners & friends to connect and come cool off with some water play at Edison Park. Mark it on your calendar! It is a really simple splash pad, plenty of room for adults & kids to be creative and play together. We’ll have some fun games to play and popsicles to snack on. There isn’t any shade around the splash pad, but bring a canopy if you have one and we’ll make our own shade. Chairs and/or blankets to sit on are also encouraged. Solitude Retreat
Join us for a day away from the heat and the noise of our overbusy world! We will drive together to the Mogollon Rim and spend a couple hours in prayer, reflection, reading, and journaling, and then gather for lunch afterward to reflect on our time!
Garfield Litter Lifters
Join us for May's Garfield Litter Lifters! Meet at The Kresta’s (727 E. Portland St. #20, Phoenix, AZ, 85006). Garbage bags, litter grabbers, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be provided. We meet at 9am and then walk several blocks on a planned route through the neighborhood and then back to the meeting point by about 10am, where we will gather our trash to dispose of. Stick around after for a neighborly potluck from 10am-11am. Bring a dish or refreshment to share! This is a great chance to meet your neighbors and pick up some trash!

Common Commitments Course
If you're new to Midtown but are hoping to learn more about what it means to follow Jesus and participate in community, join us for a three week journey! You'll get connect with other folks new to the church to walk with them in their journeys, ask any and all questions you have about Midtown and it's structure, and ultimately chart the path towards covenant partnership, or membership, at Midtown. Plus, lunch is on us every week!

View Presbyterian Church for our annual Spring Mexico Mission Trip - we will travel down to OceanView Ministries to partner with them in their community development work. Easter Sunday
To conclude Holy Week we will gather together at our normal Sunday time (9:30 am) to reflect on the resurrection of Christ and its significance in our lives today! Join us for the celebration, and be sure to invite your friends and neighbors!
Good Friday
Join us for a meditative experience on the evening of Good Friday! We will reflect upon the seven statements of Jesus from the cross through the artistic work of some of our best local artists. Each station will include an immersive audio reading of each text, an artist representation of each text, and will culminate in a short sermonette prompting you to reflect on the significance of the cross of Christ in your own life. You won’t want to miss this unique and powerful experience! It’s an open house from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm - be there, and bring headphones!
Maundy Thursday
Join us for our annual Maundy Thursday seder dinner, a night where we reenact the final meal Jesus ate with his disciples and connect the themes of that meal to the larger story of Christ and the scriptures. The meal will be hosted at the Keck house, and since we will be providing food, RSVP required, and do so no later than March 23rd. Trash & Tacos
As a way to serve our neighbors and build deeper relational connections with them, we will be gathering immediately after our Sunday gathering on March 10th for a trash cleanup event! All supplies will be provided, so you simply need to stick around and join us; all kiddos are welcome to join, and we will head to tacos for lunch shortly thereafter.
Hope Family Night
Come and serve the families of our neighborhood with a team at Hope Women’s Center! You can help provide and serve a meal and get to know and love the families that Hope serves, embodying the love of Christ to your neighbors! Plus you’ll get to hear a message from Daniel Barth!

Ash Wednesday
Join us for our annual Ash Wednesday service, a kick off to the Lenten season in which we reflect upon our need for Jesus and choose to embrace specific Lenten practices together as a community. The service will involve some music, a short teaching, and some meditative space for you to consider what God might be calling you to take on, give up, and offer to God in this season.
Superbowl Party
Join us for a gathering of fun, food, games, prizes, hilarious commercials, and, yes, some football is played as well, but that’s not even close to the best reason to join! We’ll have commercial bingo with prizes, yard games, prop bet sheets, and in general good times with good folks - we’ll provide a main dish, and you can provide a side or drink to share.

Politics, Polarization, and Peacemaking
With presentations from Russell Moore, Elizabeth Neumann, Curtis Chang, and others, this conference will foster a unifying and informed approach through workshops, discussions, and presentations. Our sessions will explore pastoral strategies for cultivating understanding, peacemaking, and respectful dialogue among church members, fostering an environment where differing political views and cultural perspectives can coexist harmoniously.
Gals Getaway
Calling all ladies to join us for a weekend of community, rest, and learning about all about adoration- how we are adored by God and how we are to respond to such adoration. You won’t want to miss it! Cost is $100 and covers lodging and food for the weekend.

Christmas in Garfield
Every year numerous local ministries come together to bless our neighborhood with a massive Christmas party. This event is particularly focused on reaching out neighbors who otherwise might not be able to celebrate Christmas with lots of gifts and fun, and so we get the chance to volunteer and help bring Christmas to them. You can sign up to help run a bounce house, manage a cotton candy or hot chocolate stand, run the gift distribution center, dress up as a superhero for photo ops, and so many more things!
Scripture Reading Event
Join us for our next scripture reading night, where we will read through one of the scriptural biographies of Jesus, all in one sitting, and then discuss the themes, moments, and ideas that stuck out to us from the larger, cohesive story. We will have snacks and drinks available - bring a friend and immerse yourself in the greatest story ever told!
Parent's Night Out
Drop off your kids at Midtown and treat yo self to a date night, some needed R&R, a good movie - whatever will give you some quality time with your spouse. Invite friends to drop off their kiddos as well - this is a great way to build connections for other families in our lives.
